    The Blood Orange Margie

I'm headed to the desert today homies. It's our annual Joshua Tree, run naked in the desert, live off of intoxicants and junk food, play beer pong and volleyball till we stumble, have spontaneous costume parties, and dance under the stars. We call it, hitting the reset button.

During this weekend of revelry, debauchery, and shedding the skin of daily grind BULLshit, we will be drinking lots of things. One of which will most certainly be a Blood Orange Margarita.

    Ingredients:

    -1 1/2 oz tequila

    -1/2 Gran Marnier

    -Blood orange juice

    -1/2 simple syrup

    -1/2 lime juice

Pack your pint glass with ice and add all the ingredients except Gran Marnier. Shake and strain into your margie glass. Add the float of Gran Marnier on top and garnish with a blood orange wedge. Sit back, relax, and hit the reset button.

This just sounds delicious. I had no idea there was even blood orange juice!! I have no idea if I can find it around here, but if I can I am so in. I just recently discovered the blood orange and I'm in love.

Carissa: Maybe if you can find blood oranges at the grocery store you can just juice them! :)

    Sara: Mmm!!!

    BenBen: Right? It's mandatory.

    Hannah: Mission accomplished.

Mmmm! I heart blood orange margaritas; in fact they took center stage at my birthday party last year. A reset trip to Joshua Tree sounds fab! I might have to bogart that idea and make the man go there next weekend.
